Overview
Hannah Murray (Game of Thrones) and Josh O'Connor (God's Own Country), star in this haunting mystery drama inspired by true events. Sara and her father Dave (Steven Waddington) move to a small town in Bridgend County, South Wales, which has witnessed a series of suicides amongst its young inhabitants. While Dave, as the town's new police officer, investigates the deaths, Sara befriends a group of local teenagers. As her bond with the group deepens, Sara begins a dangerous love affair with Jamie, taking her towards the centre of the very investigation her father is leading.
Danish director Jeppe Rønde uses the spate of Bridgend suicides in the mid-2000s as the starting point for this haunting, dream-like, and stylish film. Eschewing realism for highly charged atmopsherics, Rønde presents the story as a passionate and potent coming-of-age story told through the eyes of the town's marginalised youth.
