The Four Feathers
Ambitiously mounted and shot in Technicolor, this is by far the best screen adaptation of the popular adventure story set during the Anglo-Sudan War.
Director: Zoltan Korda
Overview
Stirring and ambitiously mounted adaptation of A.E.W. Mason’s popular adventure novel set during the Anglo-Sudan War of the late nineteenth century. The lush Technicolor photography and splendid Sudanese locations enhance this exciting tale of redemption, as an army officer accused of cowardice proves his worth on the battlefields of Sudan. The superb Ralph Richardson as a soldier blinded in battle comes out top in the acting stakes.
