Overview
This film from 1953 features a cricket match played by members of the Surrey Fire Brigade. We begin with umpires and players walking onto the pitch at Surrey Fire Service's own sports ground in Reigate. During play we see spectators on the cricket pavilion’s verandah - including several immaculately dressed women. After an interval play resumes after which we see a local dignitary awarding medals and certificates to several fire-officers who appear in full uniform.
The location of the cricket pitch in this film is St David's Close, Reigate which remains today the headquarters of the Surrey Fire Service.
