Glasgow Student's Charities Day, A Riot of Fun
Students in fancy dress reclaim the Glasgow streets to rattle cans for good causes.
Overview
The students of Glasgow take over the streets and terrorise the city - but all for a good cause. The annual rag offered an amiable nuisance each year, with the size and scale of this parade and the crowds of onlookers testament to its effectiveness. It's reported that £14,700 was raised in 1927, which would be well over £500,000 in today's money.
